How I GOT LEH'D

It was a beautiful afternoon with sun spreading its wings throwing the temprature to 36 degrees... and i recieved a lovely call while i was rushing to release myself....dnt think too much!

Sandhya, my friend from school since class 5th i guess, had called. Also we shared a common platform at being the sub-editor of school magazine. she had called to spread hapiness in my boring eat-pray-love-work routine. She had called to LEH me :)

This was first trip for which i said a YES without thinking twice, like in bollywood movies the owner of crores of property signs the 'Will' looking at the face of the other person. I had to leave 3 days later which also required me to take leave of half a week from newly joined work.

My brain horses started competing. My work had to go for printing after 2 days, so office wasnt prepared to let go of me, my smart boss had all plans for me for the next week, but i could manage to deliver all my work to the best, enough to elate him to the depths of satisfaction. hence, office chutti approved.

Since i came back from mumbai, delhi seemed lonely and lame to me, for my close pals are married and settled in mumbai. The purpose of this trip was ideally to make a visit to much talked about place and obviously to feel better after my another best pal leaves the city. So, I left office an hour early to spend little time with the departing mate at my fav place where music and people rock the place, and luckily it was a live soft rock evening at blues with some hot CHICKS doing the rounds. hence, an evening well spent!

I had enough mixed feelings, of saying goodbye's to my sestah who was leaving for london and to my best pal who was leaving delhi for ever, that while packing clothes for leh i ended up taking all Blues on the trip only to realize and figure out on the trip what have i done.

This was the first time when i cdnt pack the clothes till 1am while i had to leave mrng at 6am. With all the mixed feelings i packed and waited for the night to pass, to see a shower ridden green and clean delhi before i leave. Finally i picked sandy on the way to airport, and the sinking feelings had begun to evade. i forgot i have lot many close people whom i call friends, still left in delhi :))

Finally i was on the flight to Leh to get Leh'd (as simple as it sounds :P) and experience the lanscape most talked about, see glaciers ridden mountains, be on some heights which they call as Chang La or Khardung La, feel the love of Donkeys-dogs-people, meet new souls and make some friends, be with myself and on top of all attend the Ladakh Festival!

Leh i would love to get Leh'd again! it was just awesome!! Everytime u dnt have to post what happened in Leh, there is Before and After too :P

  4. I went once in 2008 on my bike and in 2011 hitchiked in Ladakh. I really respect the locals and their traditions. My appeal to all tourists, not to be rude, not to throw plastic bottles (commonly seen at Rohtang Pass) and love the people more than place, for their courage to survive at such an inhospitable place..
