Almost after 2 years 2 months i thought of writing about two of my extra-enthu goa trips combined together in 1 post.. the after effect has already been shared in previous posts.. cnt believe i met the same guy after 2 yrs and the story continues.. :D
Goa Rocks indeed...
DAY1: On a sunny afternoon of 9 mar we landed into the place where romance is in the air, beaches are in the heart, music is in the soul, parties are in the night, life is on a roll!!
As soon as we landed, we were whisked away to the resort mello rosa in arpora. There we saw the pool and without wasting much time, each one of us dived into the pool to relax. As it was the place of my dreams, so i took special care to dress accordingly for the land of beaches. our sightseeing expedition began with a ride to calangute market and nearby places. We were quite happy with the grand jump start of the trip, so to suffice our hunger we found a nicely made up place with dim lights, a beautifully self written menu and mint hooka on the rocks!! The place read 'Oyes and Balti' at calangute. our resort also had a little pool side party in the evening. so we sat for a while and dozed off for the day.
we asked the hotel reception for flee markets open during your stay. Anjuna and mapusa flee mrkts are famous ones.
{The flea market (called Mackies) are a collection of shops; distributed in 3 parallel lines; with a partition for eatables and an elevated stage/circular area for performances. The wares on sale include clothes, trinkets, paper products, leather goods etc. You get good hang of goa stuff there. The food stalls offer food of different countries.}
DAY2: Today was the beach day and being more adventurous; we took bikes to help our sightseeing. We started by driving to Baga Beach, a complete eye candy place and for water sports. After satying ourselves with a light breakfast at a shack we jumped into the water. Para-sailing(700 per person) and water scooter(700 for 15 mins) are two good sports there.
i hired the services of a tattoo artist also and the guys laid down for some massage. Honestly, para-sailing was not on my itinerary, but I guess it attracted me. Post this, we set off in the direction of Calangute beach. The beach being a little crowded, insisted us to head to another destination, the lighthouse(where portions of khamoshi were shot). A dream place where there is sea on 3 sides and experience of a lifetime. This is the place where goa ends. We climbed down to the little mandir type thing and stood there for a long time.
Then, we headed towards Ford Aguada (where portions of Dil Chahta Hai have been shot); enjoyed the view of the sea while sitting and singing on the walls of the fort until a little dark. The waves carry reflections of lights with them, and crash into the fort walls, is a must watch. Its an awesome romantic place :P. Finally, we had dinner at a french restaurent wherein a beautiful lady was singing in open air restaurant. Not to mention the singer with us couldn't resist singing his favorite "you fill up my senses - annies song".
It took another 4 hours for our excitement to die that day as we came back, bathe and headed to Club Cabbana. Arguably the best night club!! The idea is very simple pay a cover charge and all liquor inside is on the house. There are multiple open areas available with comfortable & reclining chairs of all kinds and a make out place. One can choose to sit by the poolside, the bar area, outside the dance floor etc..We chose a location in corner and enjoyed a beautiful view of the dazzling lights in the city. Oh, I forgot to mention that the club is located at a height and calls itself 'Night Club in the Sky'!!
You may even try tito's or mambo's. Or you may check in the weekly magazine that almost every shopkeeper in calangute has. check which all parties are being held at that time (we got tht magazine at oyes and balti, calangute).
DAY3: Today was another beach day. We covered Vagator, anjuna, panjim, dona paula, candolim, fort chapora (moving from top to bottom beaches in noth goa only). This was followed by boat cruise we embarked in the evening from panjim. The upper deck was open and a bit chilly towards the later part of the evening. Its a 2 hr cruise whose end depends on the time of cruise you select. first ship leaves at around 6 pm. En-route, we actually encountered smthng never thought of. we got caught by thullas on highway to panjim as guys werent wearing helmets. Oh yes, on the way we also passed the Mallaya Mansion; palatial bungalow of the King of Good Times.
Being a wednesday, it was ladies night at 'club cabbana'. Without much thought we again landed in the same club. We saw females from every hook corner of the world in every possible attire..max sexy females..fire show..attention catchers (poured beer on themselves..jumped into the pool..seducing..you name it..they do it) ..everything was well organized. We had great time and decided to call it a day only past 2 am. The experience was really one of a kind.
DAY4: This day we spared to the south goa. Visited citade-de-goa to munch something. we went for a nice lunch with wine, feni and fish. There are lot of churches in south goa you can explore. south goa is not at all commercialised. there is also a hotel in middle of the sea where you stay in for the whole day. After a lazy lunch at 5, we headed towards exploring calangute again to get anchor tattoo done, pick soveniers for friends and family. A local wine shop helped us pick up some wares which would provide fond memories of Goa.
The last few hours were spent chilling on the beachfront; over more food and drink and reminiscing how fast the last few days had flown. The city leads a life like theres no tomorrow. There are sections where you'll probably see more white skin than Brown. Its common to see junta walking on the streets with a bottle of Kingfisher or Breezer in Hand. Vijay Mallyas UB has painted the town red with KINGFISHER. People have no sense of direction or distance. When asked for approximate distances they say: 5 or 10 km from here. Nobody is in any kind of hurry to do anything, get anywhere. City lives upto its name of being chilled ever!!!
So, GO GOA!!!!!!!
